If you have been following my adventures for any length of time, then you likely know that I love a relaxing staycation almost as much as love a good vacation … and the city of Edmonton has quickly become one of my favorite places to get out, eat and explore (when the weather allows.)

We recently visited DoubleTree by Hilton West Edmonton on a staycation of our own and couldn’t have been more spoiled with access to Stages Kitchen and Bar, Damara Day Spa and the Mayfield Dinner Theatre all right there within the same building.
For our stay we chose a hospitality suite with expansive views of downtown and the Edmonton skyline. From the open concept living room, dining room and kitchenette to the separate bedroom and spacious bathroom, we had all of the space that we needed (and more) to feel at home away from home.
With so many amenities available in-house, we would have been perfectly content to spend our entire staycation indoors, but with so many great options for entertainment close by we could not resist heading out to explore in the city as well.
During our stay we spent most of our outdoor time exploring in the River Valley from Government House Park and enjoyed views of the North Saskatchewan River from the parking area all the way to Mackenzie Ravine (just across the river from Hawrelak Park.)
