You asked & we delivered!
It has been way too long since we have been out on the road & exploring somewhere new. As the world slowly re-opens & getting outside continues to be encouraged, many claims have been made regarding what the safest form of travel might be right now.
Yes, there are some international destinations that are welcoming Canadians at this time (with restrictions in place of course) but the Canadian government continues to encourage domestic (and even local) travel as a way to minimize risks. So, in an attempt to shake up our local explorations we took to the internet to compile a list of locations in Alberta & quickly realized that there was SO much we had yet to experience right here in our own province.
Not only was our list of “must-see” locations long and ever-growing, but it also became pretty clear pretty quickly that now is in fact the best possible time to travel here.
With the absence or tourists coming in from other countries, not only are local tourist towns & sites relying heavily on local tourism, but we have been gifted this unique opportunity to see our province absent of large and busy crowds.
If you saw our recent post regarding safe travel, then you will already know our thoughts on the best ways to camp safely in Alberta this year, but when it came to the style of camping that interested us most we reached out to CanaDream RV Sales and Rentals.
Since their start in the 1990’s, CanaDream has become one of the largest RV rental & sales companies in Canada. Their fleet of over 1000 vehicles can be spotted across Canada (and the United States) and they offer services in not just Calgary & Edmonton, but Vancouver, Whitehorse, Toronto, Montreal and Halifax.
We chose to adventure in their Maxi Travel Truck Camper & can’t even begin to tell you how convenient our trip has been. This camper offers all of the comforts of a full sized RV in a more compact space, so for two travelers new to the RV lifestyle, the truck camper was certainly less intimidating to drive & easy to park & maneuver as we made our way through Alberta’s National and Provincial Parks.
Although we can absolutely see the value of traveling with CanaDream at any time, now more than ever we really appreciated the luxury of traveling with our own controlled space & how much easier it made social distancing & limiting touch points (think campground showers & public bathrooms).
In addition to the convenience of having our own space, we also opted for CanaDream Convenience Kits to be included for our trip, which meant that everything we needed from bedding & towels to frying pans & cutlery were waiting for us at check in.
As this new era of travel begins, it is becoming all that much more important to make responsible choices & plan for safe travel (for both yourself & those around you). We have been loving this time spent on the road with CanaDream and are beyond excited to continue sharing our experience with you here on the blog & over on the TL Travel YouTube Channel.
If you have been considering a road trip like ours, but aren’t too sure where to start - no worries! CanaDream has live chats with Guest Service Agents available on their website, and those of us here at TL Travel are always happy to help as well!
