Where Should You Travel to Next? | Choosing the Perfect Destination

There is never just one right answer when it comes to the question "where should I travel to next?" Every traveler is different, has different restrictions & wants different things. What I find thrilling may bore you to tears & vise versa, so how do you know what destination is right for you? Use the following 5 questions to clear up the confusion & be confident in what you want from your vacation BEFORE you book.

HOW LONG DO YOU HAVE?

If you only have a short window of time for your adventure, then spending a day or two in transit each way may not be ideal. Start by narrowing down how long you are willing to spend getting to & from your destination & that will help to narrow down your options.

TL Travel Tip: Be sure to take time zones into consideration when you are booking as well. A red-eye flight across multiple time zones may be shorter, but can still do a lot to disrupt your stay if not planned correctly.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO THERE?

Take a moment to list & prioritize the types of experiences you will want to have while you are there. If mountains & snowboarding are at the top of your list, then Mexico may not be your best your choice regardless of its proximity to you. Alternatively, if beaches & surfing are what you crave, Paris isn't going to top your list either.

TL Travel Tip: When considering activities available in each location you will also need to factor in weather. While rafting may be a big draw for a certain location, rafting may only be available at certain times of the year. Be sure that the activities you choose are in correlation with what will be offered there in that season.

WHO ARE YOU GOING WITH?

Choices in travel destinations can differ greatly from person to person & what you find exciting, someone else may not find interesting at all. Be sure to have a discussion with your potential travel companion BEFORE you set the ball in motion to ensure that you are both on the same page (or at least willing to make some compromises.)

WHAT IS YOUR BUDGET?

Knowing how much you can afford to spend is going to make a huge difference in where you can visit. Your budget can easily determine how long you can stay, how comfortable your accommodations will be & the type of activities that you can participate in while you are there. What is & isn't worth your money will change from person to person, but deciding this beforehand is a MUST!

HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU HAVE FOR PRE-PLANNING

At the end of the day, an all-inclusive vacation in Mexico is bound to take far less work & planning than a backpacking trip through Belize. If you have time to plan in advance (or the funds to hire a travel architect like TL Travel) then either style of trip will work. However, if you are determined to do all of the planning & booking yourself (while maybe not having the time to do so), then this is something you will need to consider when choosing the style of your trip.

TL Travel Tip: Hiring a travel architect to plan & book your vacation doesn't always have to be costly. Contact TL Travel with your wants & needs for a comprehensive quote & don't forget to shop around for price comparisons. We aren't shy to say it; you'll always get the best bang for your buck right here!
